But I think the strive for higher ISO/DIN is mostly to satisfy the marketing people, justy like the hunt for higher resolution.
When did I last see any useful picture, taken at more than ISO1600 ?

I use my D3s at ISO6400 for my flamenco pictures.
The images are acceptable for use in advertising flyers and posters but one stop further and it looks like a snowstorm!
