I have just had e-mail from Nikon and as instructed advised them of camera serial no and it has checked out as one of the faulty batch so I will have to return the D810 to Nikon. I am not able to see any problems but it would be silly not to let them correct the fault! The message was as follows: Our records show that you are a registered owner of a Nikon D810 digital camera. We would like to inform you that a service advisory has been issued for that product as follows: To users of the Nikon D810 digital SLR camera We have received a few reports from some users of the Nikon D810 digital SLR camera indicating that bright spots are sometimes noticeable in long exposures, and in some images captured at an Image area setting of 1.2— (30—20).
