Reading between the lines it seems Nikon could do with an astro photographer to add to their pre-release testing team...
Could have saved them a bunch of £, $, € etc.
Doesn't need a specialist to take a 30 sec exposure at the smallest apertures. It smacks of 21st century quality assurance methods...bang it out and let the customers find the glitches. It's widespread across all industries. But it's a shame when a high tech company with all the necessary test equipment to hand, joins in.
