Actually, the Shetlanders would probably rather be returned to Norway. The islands were given to Scotland as a wedding gift a few centuries back when a Norwegian princess married a Scottish king.
True but at least I can be understand their 'Norwegian'!
I'm happy to get rid of all politicians and go for direct democracy but I fear that the decisions would be just as poor but at least we would save on the 'benefits' that the politicians cost the taxpayer e.g. Fat pensions, early retirement if they are so incompetent they dont get re-elected, expenses and perks. The list is almost endless!
