Perhaps they pulled the GPS because the battery drain of combined touch screen and GPS was too great? Touch screen may be worthwhile, if it works reliably without a rubber tipped stylus. I find my iPhone a real pain at times. Apple have been making them for a while now and even they can't perfect it. Does the touch screen know the difference between my nose and my finger? I frequently find myself inadvertently changing settings on my D3100 while taking photographs. Never happens on the D200 because of the placement of the buttons.
