Some of the latest DSLR bodies have VR built in.
Not Nikon yet.
I think that would kill their VR lens offerings but be very popular with users. I think there are design considerations that make it good to have in lens versus in body. I cant remember what it is but I remember reading about it and thinking ' fair enough! '.
