Starting from my position, without a good printer, inks, fine art papers and all the calibration required, there is an inertia ( financial and motivational) to setting myself up to print and sell my work. Although extra cash is always handy, I have to say we don't 'need' the income. The only reason for considering selling my photos is an ego thing really. It's nice to have you creativity acknowledged....sadly the bottom line measurement of success in today's society ... is financial reward.
