I havent ever had the opportunity to use the Nikon Wireless app on my phone or iPad as I dont have a WU-1A adapter.
These wireless adapters tend to be power hogs as thefy are needing to communicate continuously. A cheap option that is wired via USB interface tends to be my method of remote triggering.
