After the last import update fiasco I doubt Adobe will meddle too much with that aspect of Lr. Although to be honest, I hadn't noticed any problem with the import, I STILL don't know exactly what the issue was. Perhaps because I don't actually import the files, my files stay right where I can see them.
For Adobe to revert a major aspect of software like they did with the import 'feature' suggests to me they are responsive.
I am told Capture One is a viable alternative now, although I haven't actually looked at it.
