It does point to either better damping in the D3 or an artefact of the extra pixels in the D750.

I haven't noticed this effect previously, despite using the same technique, same tripod, same lens. The only difference is the camera. It does point to either better damping in the D3 or an artefact of the extra pixels in the D750.
