I've still got my trust 70-200 VR (version 1) which is plenty good for that focal length but not long enough on FX.
Is this one worth a punt would you say?

Not to dig up an old thread... BUT... The 200-500 is still a lens I'm seriously considering, any updates from anyone in the last few months? I've still got my trust 70-200 VR (version 1) which is plenty good for that focal length but not long enough on FX. Is this one worth a punt would you say?
