Why ?
Why not make a camera that does colour and B&W just like the Fuji XPro1 ?.
This $8000 is an insane price for a camera that has so many limitations and the price is for the body only.
The only Leica that I would lust after is the Leica S2. It is superb but still horribly expensive.
I'm surprised you don't want one
Without bayer pattern filters a sensor is incapable of colour, but the red green and blue filters of the bayer filter absorb two thirds of the light which might be available to each pixel. Surely removing these filters would translate to significantly better images than those which might be converted to b&w from a standard M9
