Every person who moves away from Adobe makes the case stronger for the removal of compulsorary subscription only policy they operate.
I still use PS CS6 (for big edits) and LR v6.13 (for DAM) but I also have Capture One Pro which is a good blend of both the Adobe softwares and it does a great job.
BTW I think you can still use LR for catalogs but you need to check the details.
