MP 5.1's with lowish spec, or bare bones are pretty cheap nowadays. It may help preserve your hair to invest in a MP5.1. The 3.1 will still have some residual value as a server, so long as it doesn't have to run recent OS or application software.

With 1Gb dual ethernet, 6 drive bays and 3 spare PCIe slots, it would make respectable server.


That is my thought as well but since I have other options at present then I will persist for the time being.

I have spent half the day configuring my very nice new Mojave driven Macbook Pro 2.9GHz, 16GB RAM, 480GB SSD and 2TB HDD. I am ready to go now just got some final tweaks and I am fit to work on the move!
I need to wait for Phase One to get Capture One Pro v11.3 updated so it supports Nikon Z7 and I am good.
