Yes I did the same. The latest version of the MacPro (black dustbin) was hugely expensive but the silver tower versions 3,1 were affordadle and the last versions were in short supply or hugely specified which made them very expensive. I have two near identical MacPro 8 core 3GHz units, one in Spain, one in UK.
