Before considering upgrading ANY Mac to Mojave, investigate the new disk formatting protocol. My understanding from reports is there are issues with Apples new drive format which seems to come with Mojave. It seems to be a once only procedure, once the new format had been applied to a drive it can't be re-formatted again.
I haven't checked this out myself because I am unlikely to update to Mojave anyway but if anybody out there is considering updating to Mojave, tread carefully.
