 Ed it's a very skilled area you work in. In very controlled studio conditions where I have done most of my ultra close up macro work it is not easy to get enough depth of field even with powerful studio flash and small F No.

On my USA trip I lost quite a few cactus flower pix because of poor depth of field with the 105mm Macro VR lens even in bright desert light at f16! With dragon flys it's even harder as they can see you and move!
