For me the image has always got to say something....even if it's a bird photograph. Without something different....it's just a close up photo of a bird on a stick. Which is fine as a technical execution or record...I just want more fun with my images. This is what I mean, using the humble long tailed tit.... The basic shot...could be tighter cropped, could have background stick removed from its head etc to make it stand out as a shot of a long tailed tit. But my preference is for more interesting unusual situations with more space around the subject to enhance the story....
