Apparently there is no grip for the D780 so that takes it off my list. That it isn't any good for video is not a problem, I'm not interested in video. Plus point is no built-in flash but not enough of a bonus to out weigh the lack of a grip.
Why the extra grip necessity? Ergonomically, the D750 was the best handheld camera I owned...nice deep finger recess. It was a breath of fresh air after the weight of the D3.
If they have kept the same body in the D780 and I didn't have the bodies I already have, I might have been tempted.
FX, 24mp, Z6 sensor, D5 processor, no silly adapter.
