Back when I bought the D70, Canon brought out an 'equivalent' shortly after (can't remember the model). I remember holding in a camera shop and just not liking the feel in my hand.

Ever since I have liked the way almost every Nikon feels, every model just feels well built and somehow right, where as Canons for me just feel wrong. (I haven't held a D800 or D4 yet but would bet the trend would continue). The only Canon I liked the feel of was the 1D flagship model, which was OK but not as nice as my D3s.

It may sound silly, and I know it makes no difference to the output, but it does make using the Nikons a more enjoyable experience for me and since I do this for fun that's important.
