OK.....had it for nearly two months so thought that I had better do a review / post some comments, thoughts on my iBook.
  • Upgraded the OS to Leopard and installed some new software, with the help of Robert, and upgraded RAM to 1.25MB.
  • Got it to try the Mac world and to mainly carry out office type work....word, excel, emails etc and to date I haven't had any problems with the performance on this front.
  • Browsing the internet was fine with Safari but i did find it a bit slow when trying to watch videos on YouTube (great source of info on upgrading Macs) so have installed Camino as the web browser which seems to be quicker.
  • Installed YouView specifically to watch YouTube videos which is even quicker than Camino.
  • Photo editing......CS2 is installed and works but not sure if I would actually trust the amendments / changes that are viewable on the screen.....still think that I will be using Windows PC for this.....blasphemy I hear you say!!
  • InDesign & Illustrator seem OK for what I use them for.
  • Tried to install Lightroom but won't work with this processor neither will a copy of Aperture (£5 from ebay) which is a bit disappointing.
  • All in all I'm very pleased with the £80 it cost me on ebay.
Only problem is that I might need another one to handle the photography side of things!
