Graham how are you stacking with the D500? Do you have an automatic 'Stackshot' device or are you manually refocusing between exposures? https://cognisys-inc.com/focus-stacking/stackshot-pkgs.html I moved a little closer to my objective of building a very heavy duty, hydraulic stackshot last evening when I had a brainwave on how to overcome a fundamental issue with my design. Very similar to this one, but comes with a pump and is much cheaper. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/20-Ton-Hydraulic-Cylinder-Ram-Jack-for-Shop-Press-Garage-Workshop-20T-20-Tons/112849902036?hash=item1a4660d9d4:g:uvMAAOSwhSFdkySp I have devised a way to automate a mechanical stackshot with a robust setup, the Stackshots are in my opinion way too fragile and flimsy. Not to mention extremely expensive.
