That applies to anything from abroad, especially if you have been purchasing from the EU.
What people forget is that you have to pay import VAT & handling charges - our wonderful "deal" only covers CUSTOMS duties & quotas.
Watch for many unhappy customers who did not realise what leaving the EU means in reality.
Additionally you can expect considerable delays due to the fact there is a shortage of shipping containers and container ships are queued up outside UK ports at the moment .... shipping companies have trebled the cost of shipping a container from the far east to the UK. Guess who is going to pay!
My wife is a retired HMRC Officer and has been banging on about this imminent train wreck since the referendum.
Mind you, she has been buying for England every since and especially as saving rates disappeared.
It's her birthday tomorrow and for once I have not been able to think of anything she wants, hasn't already got or is in transit. Cant take her out for a meal so she will have to put up with my cuisine and CAKE!
I have bought myself a new lens in her honour.
