Only if you insist on 3.3, Nothing wong with Lion. Except you will need a ton of other updates to go with it. Just take one Mac to Lion to dip your toe in? It's been very stable for me. I still have one on SL, on a separate partition. If you have enough space on the built in drive you can partition on the fly while running live.
