re all to shoot baseball Rich, Think about this: at the time the only alternatives were the F 11 1200mm fixed lense and the 360-1200 mm zoom, also F11. In those days camera's did not have an ISO button to dial in ISO 6400 or more. Think of night-time baseball, and this is the answer (regardless of the cost).
