For cat lenses it is recommended that you dont put filters on the front as it really degrades the image!
I meant as a screw OFF lens cover….if you have to unscrew the lens cap each time, why not a filter?
OK, it doesnt offer same impact protection as a metal or plastic cap so stick some plastic or rigid foam on the glass.
