Geoff, the old electronic viewfinders (EVF) were pretty ropey and yielded an image that was difficult to focus and compose an image on/in. But the latest generation of EVFs found in Sony and Fuji cameras are nearly equivalent to a 5.6K TV with very fast refresh rates. I now shoot mirrorless camera all the time and would be really hard pressed to want to go back to a DSLR or worse a film based SLR camera. That said the nostalgia surrounding these cameras is immense. I still like the feel of the wind on of my Nikon F3 but I dont intend to put a film through the camera. But never say never!
