Put simply, I wouldn't want a camera without a vertical grip and the Z6II and Z7II control grip is an abomination, looks like Nikon just cobbled it together from scrap. That leaves the Z9 and I neither can, nor want, to spend that much on a camera, let alone two of them. For now it will have to be SLRs and the best I can afford is the D5, currently paired with a D4s but I will upgrade that to another D5 eventually.
When the D3 came out I deliberately didn't handle one until it was within my budget, the same applies to mirrorless. I won't even get near one until I can afford to buy one.
I made the mistake of handling a D850 at a dealers. (I only went in for a memory card!). The rest was history.
Still the best Nikon in the hand with superb performance that set a standard that is hard to better today.
