Cold Autumns seem to be disappearing from much of the UK, probably due to global warming. The milder, wetter, windy conditions we have seen in recent years mean the sudden shock to trees has been avoided, resulting in a slow and less dramatic colour change in foliage. Well that's my take and excuse for not grabbing lots of better autumn leaf colours this year. The event was over in a flash. Mildly discoloured leaves blown to the ground before any time to mature in plain sight. Here are a few shots where I really had to work hard on camera angles to fill the frame with colour, from the somewhat bedraggled widely dispersed specimens and those who had already given up their autumn display for 2024.
