In fairness I haven’t used it in speed challenging situations. 
I had been considering getting a longer lens for it, but my previous experience with the slow AF of the XT2, I had back in the day (which was part instrumental in me coming back to the D850) has tempered my enthusiasm.
Iain’s comment about lens balance with the Z8 is another reminder of how the Fuji felt unbalanced with a big lens and your comment that the AF of the XT5 (which I guess would be the same as X20) is inferior to Nikon Zs, make me close my wallet on the thought of a long lens purchase.

Yes indeed.
The Fuji X20 AF is slower than the Nikon Zf or others in the Z range of cameras.
It is not mega different except if you are shooting sport or BIF.
