i retired two years ago after a bad holiday accident left me unable to drive for a few months ,so i just sat it out for the last nine months till my pensions started .so now had a couple of years doing what i WANT to do rather than having to get home and get ready for work .
camera wise i have come the other way having had a 50d plus a 400mm 5.6 and a few other lenses and the use of my sons 7d to try out ,i acquired a nikon d7000 middle of last year and was going to keep it for a spare camera ,after a while to acclimatise myself i realised that the d7000 is far superior in most respects to the canon pro-sumer range 50d,60d,7d ,nikon lenses being the problem ,i struggled for a few months with a sigma 150-500os ,but early this year changed to a nikon 300mmf4 afs and now use it with a 1.4tc and a 1.7tc finding it the ideal combo ,all my canon gear is now sold i much prefer my nikon for what i use it for .
