Or don't provide a wifi password and make them connect with a removable cable
They are on Ethernet now I only have my MBP on Wi-Fi. Christopher my younger son who is now 8 happily navigates to my server and helps himself to (read only) cartoons and comedy downloads I have stored there for him in his own folders. He only has access to those folders on the server. They both love to use Google Earth to explore the world, if there is an event somewhere or we are planning a trip they go exploring and see if they can find their way there.
