How come I can't find the underlined sentence in the Nikon page after the link??
Also, isn't saliva alkali?? If the breath is acidic due to the carbon dioxide dissolved, if any, I may just lick the lens element to neutralize it.
If I had Leica glass I may struggle NOT to give it the occasional affectionate lick.
