Whilst I appreciate they are there to support new products I do wonder about the effort required to release these firmware to support an exotic lens that will probably sell less than 200 units in its first year. There are many user requests for firmware extensions and updates that are more valuable that are sitting discarded or viewed as less valuable by Nikon.
Maybe there needs to be a more open process around the firmware update process?
