Just a thought. The focus issue was addressed with the newer lens, but the f-stop similarity and any other new issues make it less attractive. The 200-400mm with the TC III is a real bombshell. Guess it's back to the gym for a year or so to make the weight problem more tolerable. - EdM

P.S., I do have some new photos of bears, bald eagles, and sea otters that I'll eventually post. Overall though, there were more no-shows as Kodiak's summer weather was a bit unusual this past year.
