I havn't had any problems with my sensor in almost 3000 exposures, haven't ever used the cleaning utility. Feel sorry for those that have had proplems.
A firmware update would be appreciated to correct other things that are anoying as we have discused on other posts but to releaseanother model without adressing these issues is rather lame on Nikons part.
On the D600 the biggest annoyance for me is that when I push the OK button (in Playback mode) then I get the DLighting rather than an image image magnification.
I cant see a way to change this.
