Hi and Welcome to the forum Max. Lots of expertise here if you need to ask a question sure somebody will know the answer, or come close! I had a Sony Cybershot back in 05, until my wife decided to test it's impact resistance from five feet onto concrete, the concrete won. The replacement was a Nikon D1, she wasn't encouraged to handle the D1 although my son, deputising, carried out the same test, this time the D1 survived, but the lens wasn't too good, although it did still work after a bit of fiddling, the lens went on eBay eventually... Speaking of soldering my son Michael who dropped the D1, made this himself when he was nine, it's about a foot high, made of copper and soldered together.
