Oh dear expensive gear day.
The are some Nikon clones around now.... check the Yuongnou 565 and 568 units.
I hadn't heard of them...but then, I haven't been looking for flash units...till now!
I wasn't able to dicipher whether the 565 works from the SU800 command unit? It talks of working with onboard command units IN various Nikons. But I wasn't sure whether on board units have the complete range of functionality that the SU800 has? Eg can you change the power output for each of 3 strobes remotely?
The dead and walking dead have been packaged up and will be off to Nikon on Monday. Maybe there's a cheap fix? Not with my luck .
