I have just noticed something that requires a little extra care when uploading images. There are two fields, the first is the default which is filled and listed as Member Galleries. The second field is the one where you chose your own gallery album. This second field should be the default one to use. If you put images in the Members Galleries then the go into a bucket with any other images. I can move them into your album as I can see who uploaded them but I can only guess which of your albums to put them in. So please try to choose the second field. To stop this happening I have disabled this first field so now there is a need to choose the name of your gallery album from the drop list on the second field. This will make it easier for all initially. When we are all up and running we will use the Member Gallery, Projects and Competition albums for images that are form projects or competitions so that people can vote on images there. I will therefore need to enable the first field in the future when we are more experienced in the use of the albums and uploading. Thanks.

Thanks Jk. I notice there is an option to upload batches by specifying the URL of the location. Can this be achieved by specifying a local URL? If so how do I determine what the URL address is please? The images are on an external FW Drive attached to my computer. I could attach the drive to any other computer on my network if it helps. I have placed the image I want to upload in one folder and in seperate subfolders depending on their category. Attachment: Screen Shot 2012-06-06 at 00.10.38.jpg (Downloaded 22 times)

I think that the url for a loca drive will look something like. //localhost/.....

And a slash for each directory level? Does it need a slash at the end? Do I need underscores for the spaces? This is the path to one of the directories. It's all happening on a Mac. //localhost/main data 1000/pictures/other picture folders/new gallery folder/1 motorsport If this works it's a great idea because it just means going back and naming the images later. I guess I could even name them before uploading...

I tried: //localhost/main data 1000/pictures/other picture folders/new gallery folder/1 motorsport/ It went through the motions but no images appeared. No error messages, so it must be close? This is the directory, note the pathname at the bottom of window. Attachment: Screen Shot 2012-06-06 at 10.04.38.jpg (Downloaded 19 times)

I think you might need %20 for a space.

Thanks, I think I will remove the spaces then try again! 10% I could manage but %20 is a bit much!

Ok, I may have found it... I had a leading space in the root name of the External HD. That would definitely mess it up. Will try again a bit later when I am child free...

No, that didn't do it. I am pretty sure I have the true pathname, I have eliminated all spaces and made all the folders in the path lower case. //localhost/maindata1000/pictures/otherpicturefolders/newgalleryfolder/1motorsport/ Any suggestions would be welcome. This is a powerful tool if it can be made to work. Attachment: Screen Shot 2012-06-06 at 23.08.49.jpg (Downloaded 11 times)
