Welcome Malcolm.
Hope that you enjoy it here and dont be afraid to post images or ask any question.

Welcome to the forum Malcolm, hope you enjoy our love of photography and banter. Will be interested in your assessment of the 80-400, do you have a TC 1.4X to combine with the lens?

I am beginning to regret parting with my 400 f3.5. Now I have my D3 I am finding the 300 f2.8 a bit short for some stuff. I even tried a 500 f8 Mirror lens on a D3 today and was quite impressed.
