Hello from Fort Smith Arkansas, Brad. I have enjoyed photography as a hobby since I was a teenager. I'm currently without a DSLR, looking to resolve that soon. I enjoy nature photography especially birds. I photograph old buildings.
I'm here to learn how improve my skills and pick out my next Nikon.

Welcome to the forum, read, think about what you want and make YOUR choice. When I first joined this forum way back hoping to buy a D1, most told me to go for a D100 or a D70, I stuck to my guns and went with the D1, only you know what you need, we can advise but in the end it's you who are going to use the camera. I used and enjoyed that D1 for three years before I felt I needed something newer. I still have it and use it occasionally.

Do you have any lenses?

Are you thinking of DX or full frame?

I currently looking at DX, looking at a D5200 or D5100 OR D3200. I have had a D40 in the past. I have no lens.

Hello and welcome to the forum, Brad. I only had a little point and shoot camera when I joined this forum but went on to buy a 2nd hand D200 which has been great. Everyone here is friendly and helpful so feel free to ask questions. :wine:

Welcome to the forum Brad. With the latest batch of Nikons there aren't really any bad choices. Enjoy whatever you choose. Since the D7100 has been announced there are some cheaper D7000 also available which might also be worth comparing with the others you are considering.

I'd definitely agree with Rich's comment. There are no bad Nikons only different ones that satisfy different needs.
