....of the Furred Kind.

I threw some mouldy grated cheese on the lawn this morning.

Within seconds a host of Lesser Black Back, Yellow Legged, Common, Black headed and Herring gulls swooped in with a few Jackdaws in tow.

Within seconds, before a I could grab the camera (be prepared, NOT) they had gone taking the Lion's share.

Most inappropriate terminology because the 'Lion' then appeared in the shape of a neighbours black moggie, Milo, attracted by the sound of squabbling gulls.

He loves cheese too.

And when he's not stalking and terrorising the bird life he's always on the look out for an easy morsel.

The gulls had avoided the cheese nearest the patio due to strong winds I guess. So Milo tucked in.

Although fully aware he had a competition for the remnants he carried on with his back to the interloper.

One of the local Carrion Crows had purposefully marched up the lawn to the food source.

I am not sure if he was actually waiting for Milo to die of over eating, so he could pick his bones but in the meantime he too tucked into the cheese. At one point he was less than 2 feet from his Nemesis.

It seems cheese can calm the savage beast!
