1^st Post

Here are my links to my latest 2 attempts at baseball. 1st game I should have had the "guts" to move around like I did the 2nd game . The 2nd Game was drizzle and dark , but i tried to think and move around some

I learned alot , wish I had done this at the begining of the season but learning is the key to all this and enjoying the " shoot" which I did again ..

forgot to add I tried matrix metering and then center balance while shooting with +.7 exposure comp , auto ISO and Shutter priority with 1/2000th . Yes I had tracking issues on alot of shots.

Getting some good shots Rick.

Seems like you have the exposure and focusing sorted. It is just a question of getting more experience and being able to get into the right place to shoot. Have you tried some some from behind the batter? Is it possible so you get pitcher and batter in a straight line, Probably need to shoot through the wire behind the catcher and umpire but use MF as the wire will confuse the AF.

I tried some of them behind the batter and but the umpire was rather large is why i moved slightly to the left and right. few shots were threw chain link and i found that in editing all i had to do was adjust the black a tad and it worked decent. practice practice practice as they say .. thanks for the kind words

Some very good shots Rick. I attended a college baseball game not very long ago and observed a professional photographer taking photos of the game. He had 2 camera bodies and the one the use the most had a very long lens attached to it. He did move around on the outside of the field and used mostly the long lens. He had some credentials hanging from his neck which allowed him access to areas you and would not be able to enter but his key seemed to being mobile and a very expensive piece of glass ;-)

Looks like you have the concept down and just need more ball games to attend and practice. Enjoy.

It's amazing how 'lucky' you get when you know what you want can can prepare your self for the moment.
