Hello Experts, I am planning to upgrade to Nikon d7200 and at this point am looking for a recommended all around lens. Looking for a All-in-one lens that can provide the best value for a family trip - shooting a bit of landscape, a bit of urban and of course lots of kids.

There is a 18-105 VR lens from Nikon that may suit your needs. See here. http://www.whatdigitalcamera.com/reviews/lenses/nikon-af-s-dx-18-105mm-f3-5-5-6g-ed-if-vr

Welcome to the forum Gerry, is this your first DSLR, do you have already another Nikkor lens or is this your first venture into Nikon DSLR's? Like JK I strongly recommend the Nikkor 18-105mm VR, it's an outstanding lens, I use it for my family camera and for infra red too. Take a look at my son Chris's post of photos he took on the Isle of Skye last summer, Chris was 12 when he took them using a D3300 and the 18-105. http://nikondslr.uk/view_topic.php?id=1359&forum_id=24&jump_to=14195#p14195 This is a very good quality lens, the sections don't wobble about like some of the kit lenses nor does it suffer with 'zoom creep' which is the lens extending on it's own if the lens is pointing downwards. It can produce some remarkably sharp images.

The 18-135, which I thought you had already, would be fine also.

Gerry, I agree with the above. If this is your first Nikon DSLR, the 18-105 is a wise choice. There are a lot of Nikon lenses that may suit you, and the 18-105 is not the latest/most advanced lens, but for the budget-conscious buyer... One hint: avoid the 18-55 lenses that are often offered as a kit lens, you will be disappointed. Regards, Gilbert

I picked up a good 2nd hand 18-140mm Nikon AF-S VR for the D500 when not using it with the 500mm lens and find results for "normal" photography with it are very good. Pin sharp and nice compact light weight with a good tele reach with 140mm. At wide 18mm little bit of pin cushion distortion but easily corrected in post.
