Looking at picking up some glass and just wanted to see what people's opinions are on best value lenses. I'm looking for options around $300 but the cheaper the better. Obviously from this price range I'm looking at used on ebay and such. I don't really have a preference in focal length so all recommendations are welcome.

If I may say, you are tackling this from the wrong angle. Firstly you should consider how you intend to use the camera. What subjects and use situations. We might recommend a super 60 macro lens and you want to shoot ducks a quarter of a mile way. So narrowing down your focal length requirements might help with suggestions. I would also suggest that getting'cheaper the better' lenses might well lead to disappointment. There's an old adage....buy cheap, buy twice. If your budget is limited then rather than going for a DSLR and cheap lenses why not go for a bridge camera? The LUMIX FZ1000/1500 is a brilliant camera with 24-400miles Leica lens and can be had for a great price on the used market now Panasonic brought out the FZ2500. It's an astonishingly good and versatile camera. Check it out.
