Must have been a slow news day, Nikon has been manufacturing rifle scopes for eons.

Tom, On casual reading this looks like an article supplied by some rabies infected activist. (on a very slow news day with all capable newspaper-editors out on leave). Regards, Gilbert PS do not forget Nikon's WW II fame for making anything optical (especialle military).

Well if somebody wants to put a spin on some product on a slow news day it is always possible. For instance .... M&M. Possible to be used as an instrument of torture. Due to the nature of their coating they can be force fed to people until they cant contract their stomach. The pain would be excruciating. No doubt there could be some newshound with a dumb editor who approves.... M&M aiding military with new torture weapon. The ability of mankind to think up new and different uses for new inventions differentiates us but also provides opportunity for some crass stupidity.

I thought this was going to be about a lens problem ....having difficulty in attaining focus lock. I think if you dig deep enough into most companies activities there will be something that's not compatible with their image. It's the nature of business to find the widest possible applications for your services and products.
