I just have spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to find what app or Web site I created this effect with... It is a single photo, run through some app or filter to create this collage effect of a pile of Polaroid shots side by side with curled edges.

Do you have ANY idea how I might have done this? (this is NOT an Eric quiz where I have the answer :-)

Tom, If you open the file in Photoshop or some other software it may show the originator software for that image file, "Created by" in the EXIF...

Also sometimes in 'Get Info' it gives the originator software. That may help?

Thanks, Robert.

I have an EXIF viewer and it has no info.

Marianne remembers me creating it sitting right next to her...she remembers it to have been done on my macbook, but I'm starting to think it might have been done on the ipad due to the small file size and res (375k and 72dpi). If not that, it must have been a Web site that did the dirty deed :-)

Thanks for the tip

Ed-

Thanks...I have seen these tutorials...and they would work to do what I want but only with a huge amount of effort.

The app I used did the whole thing in seconds with no effort :-)

cheers,

Tom

This is similar to one of the page effects in iPhoto calendars and books.

Can't be saved as an image though.

I'm sure a search through the App Store for 'collage' or 'montage' will yield a few possibilities

Thanks, Doug.

I've opened the user guide or spec page on hundreds of apps in the last 2 weeks with no luck...lots of the parts are there but none seem to put the whole thing together. (and I'm pretty sick of looking at all these apps...most suck :-)

Cheers,

Tom

Looking on the gloomy but possibly realistic side perhaps the feature or app was dropped by the developer or it simply withered on the vine as many of these niche things do.

Perhaps you are going to have to go the long way round on this if you really need to reproduce the effect. :-(

Once you have reproduced it in photoshop it should be easy enough to create an action? (Not sure I could even slice the image though...) o.O

Thanks, Robert.

This was made in the last 6 months....so frustrating that I can't remember how or where. I know it was an app or Web site that just spit it out.

I don't really need to recreate it, I just wanted the option to make the same with other images...but I'm not going to spend the time to do it "manually" and think that would take all the fun out of it :-)

I'm going to let it go; I've wasted way to much time already.

Thanks everyone!

Tom, I looked at the image EXIF. It says that it was done in Photoshop CC on 25 June. Is that when you resized it to load it ?
Might be good to post up the original image so I can take a look or else email it to me.
I would be very interested to find out what you used.

Jk-

Yes, that was the date I resized it. I do not have the original but here is the earliest I still have. I can't see any evidence of the app in the meta data, but you may have some better exif viewer or skill than I do... Thanks

BTW, this was an iphone photo that Marianne shot and asked me to play with it for possible inclusion in a series she was putting together, so the size of the file may not have been a lot larger than this in the original?
