This morning I received an eMail from Dallas Dahms, the owner of the FotoZones website, confirming the current situation of his website. I had been blissfully unaware there had been what appears to have been an acrimonious split in the community previously know as NikonGear. Bj¸rn R¸rslett and Dallas had teamed up some time ago with I believe the intention of merging their websites. It seems that didn't work out so they have now gone their separate ways, the URL's are listed below: FotoZones: Dallas Dahms. http://www.fotozones.com NikonGear: Bj¸rn R¸rslett and team. http://www.nikongear.net or http://www.nikongear.com Both websites rely on subscriptions but the NikonGear site is a low budget KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid) offering which is independent and non advertising. FotoZones carries advertising in addition to a subscription, the last time I visited the FotoZones siteI was admonished for the fact that I have Advertising blocking software running in my browser... I have been a life member since 2007. FotoZones seems to rely heavily of a link to African Safari Holidays, which hold little interest for me/ |
