I can't help wondering if Billingham are having some sort of problem or restructuring of their brand.

Recently, quite a few retailers have stopped stocking them but none of them are saying why, or at least they're being a bit cagey about it. Could be there isn't the demand so they're moving to different brands, but it seems to be becoming quite widespread.

I do hope this isn't a sign of things to come as they still make the finest, most reliable, bags you can get IMHO.

Billingham bags are maybe moving upmarket as I heard that some famous bag manufacturers were using them to produce certain luxury ranges.
I have recently (last year) got a Manfrotto messenger bag for my Fuji gear. It is well made and durable and more stain resistant than the Billianghams I have.
I use my Billingham 775 that costs an arm and a leg these days but mine is actually 30years old for storing my multiple (4) Nikon SB800 flashes and PocketWizards. I know I can shoot these on Fuji or Nikon in manual mode and it works. No fancy TTL stuff.
I also have a Billingham ?755? That I use for other stuff.
