In real terms my wages have dropped 12% in the last three years. My 1% pay rise in the last of those 4 years put £40 in my paypacket. As a result of that I lost £112 in tax credits and my student loan repayments went up £4.

So, in real terms my 1% cost me £76

Fuel is our biggest cost, but it's still cheaper than the buses!

Costing me £100 a week on fuel at the moment as I am regularly visiting my sick father, 'up north'.

If I told him how much it was costing it might give him heart failure on top of everything else.

:sssshh:
